THE LIGHT LETTER

Welcome to the first ever Light Letter. Our aim is to inspire a life well lived. Fewer things take more discipline and none are more worth the effort. We won’t claim to have the recipe completely dialed, but we’re certainly working on it.

Forrest’s notebook

I wonder if I shed unneeded layers
the way a tree does,
Does autumn come for us all?
Do I need therapy, a long list of self-help books, a morning ice bath, and daily gratitudes?
Or will a quiet wind do?
Is there an art to standing still,
In letting nature turn its till,
I don’t know the answer these,
But I welcome falls soft breeze,

…And yeah, could probably use some therapy.

This Week’s Inspiration

  • To get started you have to dare to sound foolish. Take it from the video’s of these two songwriter greats: Paul McCartney and John Mayer.

  • This conversation between a driven CEO and a buddhist monk is perfect for a long walk. We liked how they talked about the importance of a healthy relationship with desire.

  • Dickinson wrote in a letter to her friend… “Let us strive together to part with time more reluctantly, to watch the pinions of the fleeting moment until they are dim in the distance & the new coming moment claims our attention.” -A note we love to read again and again from a book of Emily Dickinson’s writings called Envelope Poems.

Until next time,
Live your light.
